That mix means the heating jobs are rarely straightforward, but exactly the sort of work we like. Mains gas in the centre, oil across the outlying villages, and property age that demands a light touch. Back to home Distance from our baseApproximately 10 miles east of our Broad Town workshop. Base address: Pye Lane, Broad Town, Swindon, SN4 7RR. The character of MarlboroughThe High Street and surrounding streets are dense period stock, listed and locally significant buildings that need careful pipework, discreet flue routing and honest advice on what a heritage property can actually accommodate. Move out to Manton, Preshute, Mildenhall and the Kennett villages and it becomes classic Wiltshire oil-fired territory. Property types we work on hereIn town: gas combis and system boilers, often shoe-horned into cupboards that don't meet current guidance. Cylinders in awkward loft or roof-space positions. On the outskirts: Grant Vortex, Worcester Danesmoor, Firebird and Mistral oil boilers with external tanks; the exact stack of brands our OFTEC certification covers. Postcodes coveredSN8 and surrounding lanes. Here's what we deal with regularly in Marlborough. Non-compliant boiler cupboards in period homes Boilers boxed in without proper clearances or ventilation. We plan replacements that meet current regs without butchering the joinery. Flue routing in listed buildings Getting a modern flue out of a period property without harming the fabric takes care. We survey properly rather than defaulting to the easiest route. Tank replacement on rural properties Old single-skin tanks on farms and outlying homes need replacing to modern bunded standards; we plan the environmental side properly. Sludge in long-run heating systems Large period properties have long pipe runs that trap sludge. Power flushing plus a permanent magnetic filter is transformative.
