There's no mains gas, which makes it exactly the kind of place we're set up to help. Farmhouses, converted barns and older cottages with external oil tanks and boilers that need someone who actually specialises in them. Back to home Distance from our baseApproximately 4 miles from our Broad Town workshop. Base address: Pye Lane, Broad Town, Swindon, SN4 7RR. The character of YatesburyThe village character is largely agricultural, farms, outbuildings and older stone-and-brick homes. Properties are spaced out, tanks are exposed to weather and boilers often live in outbuildings. That combination punishes cheap or careless installations. Property types we work on hereGrant Vortex, Worcester Danesmoor, Firebird and Warmflow are the common brands. Cylinders are often oversized older units on gravity systems. Farmhouses may have long pipe runs and multiple outbuildings sharing a heating source. Postcodes coveredSN11 and surrounding lanes. Here's what we deal with regularly in Yatesbury. Fuel contamination and sludge in tanks Rural tanks accumulate water and sludge. We test, drain and replace filters, and replace tanks that are past saving. Boiler lockouts in exposed installations Outbuilding boilers exposed to the elements soot up and lock out. Proper commissioning and flue positioning solves it. Long-run heat loss Underground and long-pipe runs waste energy when not lagged. We identify and fix. Old cylinders and gravity systems Slow-heating cylinders on gravity systems are inefficient. We plan sensible upgrades to unvented or system boiler setups.
