This page is maintained by BTD Plumbing & Heating (Ben Davis) to explain what information we collect when you contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

What we collect

• Your name, phone number, email and postcode when you use our contact form.
• The details of your enquiry (property type, boiler details, symptoms, service required).
• Records of the work we carry out, job sheets, service records, invoices and warranty details.
• Basic technical information (device type, general location) from the website; we do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and provide a written quote.
• To arrange, carry out and follow up on work at your property.
• To keep the statutory service and installation records required by Gas Safe and OFTEC.
• To send invoices and manage payment.

Our lawful bases are: your consent (contact form), contract (carrying out the work you've booked) and legal obligation (Gas Safe / OFTEC record keeping and tax records).

Who sees your information

We do not sell your data. We share it only with parties we need to in order to do the job: our accountant, HMRC, Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, and, where relevant, the manufacturer for warranty registration. Our website review widget is hosted by ReputationHub and displays public Google reviews only.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Job and installation records are kept for at least 6 years to meet tax and safety obligations, and longer where the manufacturer's warranty requires it.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted (where we're not legally required to keep it), to restrict or object to its use, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
